Controversial and just a bit conflicted, Cuba is a nation like no other-rhythmic, colorful, sophisticated and extraordinary all in one sumptuous breath.

My first visit to Cuba was short and limited to the transit area in Havana International Airport. As a young man, fresh from the University in Kiev, I was on my way to the United States, looking for new opportunities and better life across the ocean. Havana left me with two things to remember: heat and humidity. As I looked out the window of Soviet built TU-154 airliner beyond the graceful sweeping wing with engine humming underneath at the gentle gradients of colors of Havana - some how I knew I would be back someday....

Twenty years later, Jose Marti International airport welcomed me not as a transit passenger, but as a man with the mission to discover Havana....."
